EDI (Electronic Data Interchange)

Electronic Data Interchange or EDI refers to the concept of two organizations transmitting and receiving business transactions via an exchange of electronic data. These transactions include purchase orders, purchase order acknowledgments, invoices and invoice acknowledgments. A common data standard is used to allow the two systems to speak to each other in the same language. EDI has been around since the 1970's.

Historically the individual transactional relationships required the development and testing of unique “maps” which utilized the data standards to layout the specific field-level relationships between the partners. The advent of cloud service brokers such as Liaison and GHX has allowed Linde to create a single "master map" with them and rely upon our SaaS partners to complete the connection to our customers and vendors.

Quick, Easy Payments and Transactions

Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) are fast, easy and accurate ways to exchange business documents, process information and payments and reduce your total cost of doing business.

EFT: Improved Processing

EFT improves the payment process, delivering flexibility and reduced transaction costs when using EDI documents versus using paper checks and credit cards. Linde accepts your EFT payment using the ACH format standards.

EDI: A Win-Win Opportunity

EDI is another way Linde can help you reduce the cost of doing business. EDI is an electronic (paperless) option for customer transactions including purchase orders, purchase order acknowledgements, invoices, invoice acknowledgements and other EDI documents.
